General Registration Advice:
Please be advised that registration can be a lengthy and difficult process.
It is a formal process governed by the DVLA not Buzzard Bikes,  The Internet Bike Shop or any of its other dealers.
We require specific and accurate information for it to be completed successfully. (Any inaccuracies from you will cause problems and delays, we are not responsible for this).
Customers MUST be very patient during the process.
We appreciate your patience and understanding, during this very busy time.

Licence Requirements

DVLA requires road legal bikes to be registered. For the registration process there are a number of license requirements:

Under 17 years old
from 16 years old you may ride a 50cc or less bike with a Provisional driving license and Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) license.
Full UK Driving License with a full UK car drivers license you can ride a bike of up to 50cc without L-Plates and carry a passenger. If you wish to ride a bike up to 125cc you will require a CBT. For bikes above 125cc you will require a full bike license.
Full UK Motor Bike License you can ride any bike up to 250cc for the first 2 years and after 2 years you can ride any size engine.
If you are over 21 years old, you can take a direct access test which if passed allows you to ride any engine sized motorcycle.

Please be aware that this is a guide and is subject to legal change, so please refer to your driving licenses and the regulating authority  (DVLA) if unsure.

Dealer Registering Vehicle – ‘On The Road’ Package.

Buzzard Bikes will register your vehicle for you as part of your ‘on the road’ purchase. There is certain documentation such as your driving licence, identification such as a utility bill or bank statement and an insurance certificate that will be needed to complete the registration process. Your CBT certificate may also be needed to verify your riding status. Your dealer will supply you with your registration number when you purchase your vehicle in order for you to obtain your insurance.

Once these documents have been submitted your dealer will let you know when you can collect your new bike or scooter – as simple as that – no forms, no queues no fuss!
